Summary
Living in highly developed cities has many advantages such as access to amenities, but it also has some downsides, namely it can feel very hot! Living in cities means you're likely to experience up to 3 degrees Celsius warmer daytime temperatures than rural areas. But there's a way to combat this through greening initiatives. This webinar will highlight some initiatives across different cities devised to beat the heat.
About the presenter
Shelly Tsui is currently the coordinator of educational activities at Embrace the Earth. She has an academic background in science and public policy, and her interests are in advocating for wide scientific literacy, public participation in technoscientific issues, and in findings ways, big or small, to combat the challenges of climate change.
